Donepezil is used to treat confusion (dementia) related to Alzheimer's disease. It prevents an enzyme called acetylcholinesterase from breaking down acetylcholine. This means there is a higher concentration of acetylcholine in the brain, which leads to better communication between nerve cells. This may ease some symptoms of Alzheimer's disease for a while.

It does not have any intel on tinnitus, but there is a clinical trial currently going on in Brazil. I have contacted the researcher and will let you know if I receive any response:

Some patents are published for it regarding hearing loss and CNS disorders:
      1. Hearing loss
      2. CNS disorders (combined with Memantine)
Just wanted to share as it seems one of the least known drugs for hearing disorders but who knows, it may help someone.
