ENT Says I Have No Hearing Loss, My Tinnitus Is Constant, and I'm Unsure What Caused It

I'm just looking for advice or help with figuring out my tinnitus. My ENT said my hearing is great and they removed a big chunk of wax (which didn't help). I've had it for as long as I can remember so I'm not sure what caused it.

Stress + anxiety make it way worse for me.

I have very tight neck/jaw muscles and grind my teeth.

Moving my head/jaw change the volume.

SSRI spiked it like crazy.

When I stand up too fast and get dizzy, my tinnitus goes crazy.

I'm not sure how to approach it or a cure. Any ideas?

 

I have a hard time believing that your hearing test was accurate if you have bad tinnitus. The reason being, I think your tinnitus would mask at least some of the various sounds used in a hearing test, and would cause you to not hear them. At least that's my hearing test experience. Possibly your test only tested a lower tone, such as conversation?

My annual hearing test has many different sounds at all different pitches or tones. My hearing loss is less at the lower tones than the high tones. I suppose that is because my tinnitus is right in tune with some of the higher tones, and therefore are not heard during the test.

 

I was in a booth hearing beeps of all kinds. I'll follow up to see.

 

Most ENTs test only up to 8khz, and my tinnitus is >= 10khz. You might possibly have high frequency hearing loss above 8khz.

 

Look deeper into that because it may be the cause.
