Who am I kidding, its got to be noise :/
Hi everyone,

It's been a difficult couple months. Things haven't been made easier by the events of today. The light switch in my bathroom had an arc flash (an electrical explosion as a result of a short circuit).

Some quick googling shows two studies, both of which found that all the arc flashes they tested were in excess of 140 dB.

I took 600mg of NAC, some quercetin, vitamin B and some coenzyme Q10.

As of now I have light ear pain in my bad ear, the right side but not noticeable threshold shift or increased ringing.

I'm calm but scared. My permanent spikes are always apparent the next morning.

Sorry to hear about that, I think I may have some good news though. From what I gather, arc flashes typically only occur at voltages higher than 120, I'm thinking what you experienced was an arc fault, which is much less serious than a flash. Was it an actual explosion (with flames, burns, eye damage, shrapnel)? If not, I'm think you're okay my man, probably loud but not loud enough to cause lasting damage.
