Tinnitus Since
15 years
I have had minor ringing in both ears for years, at least I think it has been minor. It's the kind of thing that you don't realize it's there unless you stop what your doing, listen for it and yup, it's there. When it's quiet, the ringing takes over but still, I guess it never bothered me.

Then about two years ago, I noticed the fullness feeling what I think started in my left year, but now most of the symptoms is in my right. My doctor sent me to a wonderful ENT doctor and I was treated for allergy issues but it wasn't until I was clobbered in the head with a soccer ball that I experienced distortion and increased ringing in my right ear. No Vertigo though, thank god, although I have always been a little dizzy. haha. seriously though, I have never been able to do spinning rides at the amusement park, even a marry-go-round makes me sick.

So my two ENT doctors think it's Menieres' and I take the water pill, Triamterene which I can't tell the difference with. Maybe it helps, but there could be so many things that effect it.

I eat well, with very low salt, I do have one small coffee in the morning and I do drink one or two alcoholic drinks most days. I did go on a strict Tinnitus diet i found on line and I did get to a point with almost no syptoms, but I'm not sure it was the diet. I should try that again to see.

Today the ringing in my right ear is pretty intense and I don't know why. I have a nasty sinus head ache in my right forehead, maybe I have a sinus infection.

I will spend some time on this site, it does help to read what seems to work for others. I also look for similar symptoms as mine, because I am not totally convinced I have Menieres.

thanks for reading

Welcome.

From what I read, the symptoms of a typical episode might start with a feeling of fullness in your ear, increasing tinnitus and decreasing hearing followed by severe vertigo, often accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Such an episode might last 20 minutes to four hours.
