Don't miss the opportunity to attend Tinnitus Quest's online Q&A with Dr. Susan Shore and Jon Pearson, CEO of Auricle on October 13. We will hear the latest about the Susan Shore Device.
Whether you are "there" or not, I'd like to point out that the image in your post has nothing to do with habituation, which is the subject line of your thread.
Habituation has to do with not caring, regardless of what station your brain is tuned to.
I would consider myself "habituated" even though I hear my tinnitus often and loud. It's just when I do hear it - which, as I say, is often - I don't care. That's what habituation is to me.
Good to see you're still around, last I looked you were making noises about leaving for good. For what it's worth I think it's great that you've stayed to offer support.

Sounds about right to me. Over time you'll like be aware of it less and less (unless you seek it) regardless of how loud it is, but you are well on your way. Excellent.

Dr. Nagler, I've noticed several people say they have habituated, but then their tinnitus got louder and now they are basically back to square one. Do you think this is because they didn't really habituate very well?
I am certain this is on one of the forums, but where can I find the steps to habitation? Thanks, today is hard.
Need to work on coping with this noise.
