Hard of Hearing with Pulsatile Tinnitus — Do I Need a Hearing Aid?

I am new here. I am 40 years old and very hard of hearing with pulsatile tinnitus. When I press under my ear it stops..like where my carotid artery is. It's almost always there and my meds are suboxone and gabapentin. Do I need a hearing aid? This is awful.

Have you been checked by a doctor for your pulsatile tinnitus? Has the doctor recommended any tests to determine a cause? There are many possible causes for pulsatile tinnitus, so it might be a good idea to have your carotid arteries checked for blockages, etc.

Have you tried hearing aids yet? For some people, they work very well, and help to mask the tinnitus. For me, however, they seemed to amplify the pulsating, so I returned the hearing aids to the audiologist.
