I am a long-term sufferer of 30+years of sound-induced (firearms, music) tinnitus. I am now 49 years old and as I age the ringing is bothering me more and more. I am not sure if it is getting louder or I am becoming more aware of it. I hope that we all can find relief soon and look forward to interacting with you all.

Do you have how much hearing loss as a result of those activities? Have you recently had a hearing test?

You certainly have a lot to offer to everyone here with your decades of tinnitus experience.

Thanks for all the replys sorry have not replied earlier but my mum is ill at the mo and didn't get any emails to say id received any replies I will message again later as id like to know how to cope with it as it has affected me mentally and I'm no longer the person I was, I'm very short fused now and snap at people very easy when I was more of a joker type person, than snapping and moaning, I have no sleep pattern and can sleep very short periods due to T sometimes lucky getting an hour till I wake with a plane taking off in my head so can't sleep again and find it hard to cope with, mentally I'm a wreck, what I didn't like was docs sayin nothing wrong you listen too much, soon as I seen an audiologist asked me did you work with explosives, which I have not as he said there badly scarred I was gob smacked as gp said no scars and nothing wrong for over 2 years, and had to really kick off to see a specialist I will update a bit more later as I need to go to help my mum. Thanks again for all the replies many thanks Patrick
