Cause of Tinnitus
Loud music
The other day I was outside and a construction group was doing work right outside on our block. On the way home, I saw they were right outside my house. They were using a truck and a jackhammer. I had to get to the house, and I thought it would be no problem because I was wearing ear plugs (inserted correctly) and protective ear muffs. I forgot that some noise can through the head if its loud enough and affect you anyway. It was stupid but I quickly ran by the construction site to the front door of my house. I regret it so much now.

I was outside today and I was walking on the road and two motorcycles passed by at different times. I measured them on my sound meter and they weren't louder than 85 decibels but it was only a phone app so I don't think its completely accurate and it seemed so loud. When I got home, I took out my earplugs and the ringing seems so much louder.

Feeling suicidal and I regret ever going out. I can't stop feeling guilty for how many mistakes I've made. I'm afraid to go out now and the ringing seems so much louder than it was before.

Dont feel guilty for other people making loud sounds.
I also had jackhammers out side my home and front window.
You did well having plugs in and earmuffs so im sure no lasting damage has been done.
Try stay calm and relax as anxiety will ramp up your tinnitus.
Have a good night sleep and im sure it will get better.
If you feel suicidal please ring Samaritans or Mind or out of hours doctor or go to your emergancy department or ring Mental health for support.
We are here around the clock to support you also....lots of love glynis

It's a spike that will go over in a couple of days or even tomorrow, don't worry.

Yesterday I was in the city for a couple of hours and my T was about 35% louder in the evening but as I expected, it settled down today to base volume. I don't really care too much about these temporary spikes.

Jackhammer from distance with ear muffs + ear plugs = no problem
2 motorcycles passing by = no problem

Of course this is if you don't have hyperacusis. It might be a problem for people with H.

I think of the children in war zones who not only have tinnitus as a result of bomb blasts, but have lost their parents and have no access to professional help. We are blessed. Be strong!
