How do you set your white noise generators or other masking sounds?

  1. I set it very low, just so that I can hear it and it does not at all compete with my tinnitus

  2. I set it so that it really blends with my tinnitus

  3. I set it so that it almost masks my tinnitus

  4. I set it so that it totally masks my tinnitus

Just curios to know how you set your white noise generator or other masking sound if you use them on a regular basis?

To me it's not possible to mask completely. I used to set it quite loud but recently I lowered it so that I just can hear it and it's far from competing with my tinnitus.

I imagine that most people who wear these devices are trying to get some immediate relief, in which case you set them at the volume that gives you the greatest immediate relief. And only the wearer himself or herself can determine that volume. It's a highly individualized thing!

Me? I don't use any wearable devices at all for my tinnitus.

I misunderstood this vote. I thought you meant table top white noise generators--not the kind one wears. So please disregard my vote.
