I am new to this site so if this is the wrong section, please let me know. I am curious if anyone here has participated in any sort of drug trials including drug trials for tinnitus.

      How does one enrol?
      Is it risky?
Is one compensated and how much?
How long to these trials usually last?

      Thanks,
      Christo

I've done a couple clinical device trials. I wouldn't personally ingest untested drugs as a general rule, I think the risks outweigh the benefits (if something actually works then it will end up on the market in a few years anyway).

Sometimes you are compensated, but usually not very well.

you can find out about trials that might be available new you here: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/results?term=tinnitus&Search=Search

The risks would depend on the specific thing being tested, but, to do any of the experimental treatments you generally sign waivers that amount to "I don't have the right to sue you even if the experiment causes my genitals to turn orange and fall off".

Really appreciate the input. Thank-you, I am grateful. In all fairness, genitals turning orange and falling off would not be a deal-breaker for me.
