I'm So Tired of Loud Censoring Beep Tones on Videos

I'm so tired of these goddamn BEEEEP! censoring tones on videos. They are on so many videos and come out of nowhere and they are usually much louder than the speech.

I'm going through a 3rd spike now because of TONE related incidents and the other two spikes haven't recovered.

I just wish they would do something else or just use silence.

Anyone else having issues with this?

It's very frustrating to know that you can have a life altering event because of some asshole who decided to swear.

 

I am doing quite bad, I now have a new tone in my right ear ever since it happened, I don't understand how this condition can be so sensitive, still baffles me after eight years of having it.

 

Still doing really bad because of this, no improvement.

Looks like this is going to be permanent or very long term, the new tone is 950 Hz so a relatively low frequency. What's worse it's an octave lower than another tone I have in the same ear so the higher-pitched one always reminds me of the lower pitch and brings it back to focus and vice versa.

 

I don’t really watch YouTube since tinnitus, but my kids do. It’s not censorship beeps i have issue with. The YouTube gamers, joke video people etc they watch do the sudden distorted volume spike thing all the time. Like everything is normally volume then part of the gag is SUDDEN SUPER LOUD DISTORTED PUNCHLINE.

 

The threat of my generation and the ones after having more and more cases of both hearing loss and tinnitus will in part be because of stuff like this. Almost nobody takes ear care seriously these days.

Wow, I feel like a crotchedy old bat after saying that. It's true though!

 

I'm sorry to hear this. These tones used for censoring are sine waves at 1 kHz. Most loud horns are also around 1 kHz. I'm wondering if a censoring tone can spike your tinnitus. How about horns!?

 

I avoid horns at all cost, I never walk on streets anymore, only in parks far from cars.
