Injured Right Ear, Ringing in Both?

I have a perforated eardrum and have had high-pitched ringing for 2 weeks now, but why do I hear the ringing in both ears? I understand the ringing comes from the brain but I often hear of people saying they hear ringing from only one ear, or in their head (I have this as well). But why both ears?

 

Im not sure about this, but i hear many people say they start out with T in 1 ear then it goes out to both later in life, but i could be wrong about that, i also got T in both ears at the same time.
