if the environment has intermittent noise of 85 decibel, and the exposure chart say we can be exposed to it for 8 hours straight, does this mean that given intermittent noise, we can be expose for even longer than 8 hours like 16 hours?

I believe that it's 8 hours per 24 hours, no sure if consecutive or not, I but I would suspect 8 total.

So no, 16 would not be fine, 4 and 4 would be ect...
