is there such a thing of interval of hearing loss? is hearing loss a frequency by frequency thing or will there be a range? e.g. can you have a hearing loss at 1000hz but no hearing loss at 1001hz and hearing loss at 1002hz or will hearing loss coverage a range?.

Also is it one ear cell per frequency? given we have 15000 ear cells but can hear up to 20k it seem that it could be more than one frequency per ear cell.

How do it know if have hearing loss at a non standard frequency? just using a tone generator and compare left ear to right ear?

if the above is true then hearing tests are not very useful as it will only tests a very small number of frequencies.

I have hearing loss at 6kHz but not at 5 or 7kHz. Coincidentally, my tinnitus is at 6kHz.
