Intro + Push Ups (Exercise) Worsening Tinnitus?

Hi all,

This is my first time posting in this forum. About 2 years ago I developed tinnitus, I'm still not 100% sure of the cause but I believe it to be excessive headphone use listening to music/video editing etc. On the exact day I got tinnitus I also heard a loud bang sound which shook me, but don't know where the sound came from (Possibly the headphones? I may have been wearing them at the time). I now no longer use headphones at all. I did continue to use them for a period after I got my tinnitus though, and it made the tinnitus worse - louder. So now I've made the decision to never use headphones again.

Anyway I got all the typical checks done, MRI scan, visit to ENT doc etc and all is good. But the tinnitus has gotten worse over time. I've also noticed something:

Doing exercises like Push Ups permanently raise my tinnitus volume. I've read some people stating that exercise in general causes tinnitus spikes temporarily, but for me I've noticed that doing push ups raises it permanently (and chin ups, pull ups - basically any strengthening exercise), usually beginning the following day. I don't really notice tinnitus spikes during exercise like some people mention.

Doing cardio type exercises like running, cycling and swimming have little to no effect on my tinnitus, even when pushing myself very hard.

My question is: Should I stop doing push ups or any other strengthening exercises? It seems insane having to stop something I used to always do to keep fit. But I feel like I have to. Seems like cardio is all I can do now. My upper body is going to turn to mush.

My tinnitus is at an annoying level now where I hear it almost all the time: when eating breakfast, watching tv and night time is the worst, especially trying to sleep (I'm not getting mush sleep these days). I hate tinnitus, to just be able to hear silence for a minute or two ...
