Loud music
I was standing at a bus stop (not in America right now) and a construction truck passed by. The horn went off and it was so loud. Louder than an ambulance siren. I was wearing earplugs but it was so uncomfortable I felt my whole face wrinkle up. I immediately noticed the spike.

I've been trying to tell myself "it wasn't that loud. It just sounded louder than it was. The spike will go down," but this morning I heard the same horn (it was this musical tone) and it was so loud it woke me up. It went off 3 times, and it was uncomfortable to hear even though the road is very far away from my (grandma's house) bedroom window and my windows were closed.

I looked up how loud truck horns were and apparently the air horns can be 150 decibels or more. I really hope it wasn't that loud. I think it's been about 2 or 3 weeks.

Is it possible for this spike to go down?

Impossible to say but yes they can settle. Best not put a timescale on it however. Could be weeks, months or up to two years. In the same boat as you btw.
