Is Prednisolone the Same as Prednisone?

      Tinnitus Since:
      18/03/17
      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Loud club
      My ENT has given me prednisolone. Is it the same as prednisone and is it as effective?

      Tinnitus Since:
      03/2011, got worse 09/2016
      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Acoustic trauma
      They work the same. Prednisolone is a bit more expensive I think and it's preferred sometimes because it doesn't put as much burden on liver than Prednisone. So all good, you were given the right medication.
