Looking for a Drug Similar to Alcohol without Toxic Effects

I have loud tinnitus.

I am looking for any drug that will put you in a state where you just do not give a shit about the tinnitus.

So my uncle drinks each night until he passes out which seems to get his mind off of the tinnitus.

All I can think of is Ketamine or Kava.

@Fortuna117 Cannabis? I used to smoke prior to tinnitus but when I've smoked it's spiked my tinnitus, making it super loud, I guess it's a trial and error sort of game. I know a few people on here are taking benzos or Xanax, and said it helps, I don't know, I haven't been at this for too long.

Benzos are very toxic FWIW.

L-Theanine has an excellent safety profile (it has GRAS designation by the FDA and doesn't seem to cause addiction or tolerance), is cheap, and it works for many people as an anxiolytic. Not for everyone, though. Well worth a try, see if it works for you.

Prominent tinnitus Dr.'s like Robert Levine and Abraham Shulman use Valium/Klonopin or combinations with Gabapentin for their patients. If you have a raging loud noise in your head what are you supposed to do?

I have loud solid hissing atm and not sure how to stop it. It could be partially TMJD, not sure.
