Loud Thunder

I am surprised there are not many threads on this. I just had very loud thunder strikes in my area and I read that thunder is 120 dB. Is this true?

I mean we all know there is mild thunder and then those very loud ones that sound like a bomb just hit. Are these not to worry about?

Definitely worry about that. Just pop some earplugs in if you're outside in a storm, and seek shelter.

Thunder is quite loud. Some weeks back I could hear it in my bedroom, with my foam earplugs in. I was glad that they were in, and the storm was some distance away as well. Yes, nature is quite powerful.

Well I'm too busy being scared about my car deploying air bags... Those things reach 120 dbs too!
