Noise
I would like to draw everybody's attention to the amazingly successful reports coming from @kelpiemsp between October 25th 2018, and February 19th 2019.

* During the morning of Oct 25th 2018 I reported that my own tinnitus level voice matched to 60 dB.

* Within just a few minutes klempiemsp (Advocate) replied that:

"I'd love to be able to voice match mine to a quiet 60 dB but my 85 dB dental drill means nothing because I have a job."

* Then on February 19th 2019, he said:
"My tinnitus isn't really a part of my daily life.
I'm here for the habit and friendship.
I think about it maybe 5 minutes a day."

* I subsequently replied to him:
"Oh! - I remember you saying that you were suffering severe Tinnitus at over 85 dB...??
Please correct me if you think I imagined it?"

* His reply was:
"Yup :) the days before I was part of the
bimodal stimulation trial. T'was no fun.
No fun at all.
And by days I mean years.
And by years I mean decades."

Did nobody else pick up on these reports folks.
In just four months, for tinnitus to go from (voice match) 85 dB to,
- "not part of my daily life,
- I think about it 5 minutes a day."

IS THIS NOT PRETTY IMPRESSIVE FOLKS?

Dave x

PS - it's almost enough to make one a tad skeptical?

In actual fact, as most of you realise I hope, I am not a skeptic - but I do have a very keen instinct for verisimilitude.
(ie - the ring of truth.)

@Jazzer It's incredibly impressive.

And it's why I've actually done something for this community unlike yourself only whining and complaining, and trying to undermine me every you chance you can get.

It's as though all of your mindfulness is just empty words as it's clear you have achieved no great state of mindfulness.

You can earn some respect when you grow the courage to do something with yourself and actually apply your talents to this community, instead of chickening out.

I have financially, as a volunteer analyzing data which this forum subsequently published and presented, and as a subject in a research trial, where I spent countless hours for little to no pay, in hopes of the minute chance it would have some effect.

And then I journaled my story, and continue to stay here when I am effectively cured.

Seriously bro... it's time to release that blue note.

"I'd love to be able to voice match mine to a quiet 60 dB but my 85 dB dental drill means nothing because I have a job."
Also this is bullshit. Post the full real quote! Because that isn't what I said.

Oh wait... interpretative reading? Is that the real inspiration behind your poetry? Poor reading comprehension? Post the link and the full quote please....

Okay @kelpiemsp - I seriously do not like blowing my own trumpet, but here goes:

Re: doing something - other than whining and complaining.

Thousands of PMs to try to help people.
Thousands of posts in the forum to try to help.
An awareness video which we filmed for Tinnitus Talk entailing many hours of work, commitment, and enterprise, which so far has had nearly 1,000 viewings in two weeks, which also asked for donations for our cause.
Endless effort on my part.

What I did in the post which you clearly disapprove of, was to restate some of your comments - nothing more.
Words from the horse's mouth, as it were.
At least you are aware that I am paying attention.

And I will just point out that your first response to me was cruel, ill judged, demeaning, dismissive, just plain 'NASTY', and not what one would expect of an Advocate?!?!

So there you have it, my friend.

I will now draw a line under the whole affair.

@Jazzer if you are going to quote my words then do it... otherwise stop making stuff up and dwindling your credibility.

As someone who was severely struggling I found your incredible ego and lack of compassion stunning... again let's see the full quote!!!

What I did was reach out for help... what I did was post my true thoughts and feelings. What I did was look for comfort. All you did was snarl at the fact that someone else could be suffering like you.

@kelpiemsp,
I have made this separate thread as we have been asked to stay on topic.

I have lived for 24 years with low level tinnitus, and for the last 5 years with 60dbs of (voice matched) noise.

In October of last year you described my 60 dB of hateful noise as a 'luxury.'
I will suffer this noise or worse for the rest of my life.

Those words were the most hateful words I have ever read on this forum.

I quoted 'your own words' back to you.
If you want to go back through the posts and put up anything you feel is relevant, then be my guest.
I do not lie, I do not fabricate, I do not exaggerate.
If you are complaining because I have enough ego to defend myself, well yes, like all of us I have feelings and sensitivity, which comes with being a human being.

I wouldn't be too proud of those words if I were you - but perhaps you will learn from them to be a little more careful.

However, I wish you well, and will not get involved in any further arguments with you.

When I say 'I wish you well' I mean it.

There are some whom have spent many hours by PM, forum general and private email to be a friend to others and provide whatever support that they can. You are one Dave and bless your heart for being you, a true advocate in my opinion.
I messaged Dave directly for support and would be glad to post the PM and he promptly ignored me. Shortly after I joined the site. So I don't buy it.

That's not what I said. Please quote me... otherwise stop with this bs. I said something along the lines of I don't have the luxury of not being able to work because I have to support my son or go homeless. If you can't see that difference than I'm not sure you can be helped.

@Jazzer let's see the quote?
Here is the full quote
Because if you have the ability to cope... you don't have it bad.

It's why Stephen Hawking had a mild case of muscle weakness.

You can bet all the cool kids with real ALS just called him a poser... Same thing with tinnitus.

I'd love to be able to voice match mine at a quiet 60 dB but my 85 dB dental drill means nothing because I have a job. Lame, lame, lame.

Thanks!!! Context is key. As you can see I'm struggling with people not taking my tinnitus seriously regardless of the volume because I am able to hold down a full time job. And I'm sorry but when my MML dropped to 60 life was great. We all have a different perspective. Maybe you should learn to respect other people's experience. I never said it should be a luxury for you... only that it would be one for me.

@kelpiemsp

You mentioned the word 'respect,'
and that is where all good communication starts, leading to good relationships.

We can agree on that.

I apologized to Jazzer on the spot and said it was never my intention to minimize any one else's struggle. Only to point out that just because some of us have kept our jobs, doesn't make us less of a sufferer. I have heard no such apology from him. And only have been met with continued snide remarks.

To be honest @kelpiemsp at no time did I feel I had said anything to apologise for.
I was the aggrieved party here.
However, falling out with anybody is regrettable and I apologise here and now for the fact that we have had this sad incident.
I am quite sure that be both have enough on our plates without this hassle.

Best wishes

@kelpiemsp I never become directly involved with turmoil between posters. This isn't who I am. I care just to help people when I can and want no credit for doing so.

I sent you this polite PM on Wednesday at 7:00 PM with no regards to what may have or is taking place between Dave and you.

"What did you do to get your TMJ under control? Steroids / injections? Thanks"

I did not hear back from you for almost two days, but that is OK, even as you were signed in. Maybe you had a headache or lack of sleep and would had found it difficult to respond.

Yesterday I gave support to Dave - Jazzer who is a friend and some here may be aware of that from our back and forth friendly conversations. Yesterday I mentioned that Dave is a kind and caring person by with no refection on your personnel self. Somehow my post was removed.

You answered my PM to you today saying ...

"Why in the world would I want to help you..."

The question on how did you get your TMJ under control was asked to compare to case study research where I'm trying to assist those with TMJ concerns.

I feel that I have always been fair to you. I have been a member of several health organizations and elected to Who's Who published in book form going back to 1975-76. My contribution and achievement plaques and degrees were never hung on a wall. I don't want recognition as stated above. Final - my life has been about wanting to help those in need.

@Greg Sacramento
If you took no sides then why agree with an inflammatory and derogatory post that questioned my words and statements? Defend that...Seriously... and then your clear lack of trust for posting a private conversation.

Also I have a new born child. Your message was not at the top of my priority list. I always respected you... but to take sides on a slanderous post where I was initially seeking help... no thanks.

I am sorry that we have had this sad incident as well. I wish nothing but the quietest of tinnitus in your future.

@kelpiemsp

I only mentioned that Dave cares about people and family. I know that you care about others as well.

Congratulations to you, wife and family on your new born.
