      Tinnitus Since:
      april 2016
      Cause of Tinnitus:
      maybe stress
Has anyone experience with MAO inhibitors and tinnitus?

I am very anxious and depressed.

I tried a lot of medicines: different benzos, several antipsychotics, several antidepressants, antiepileptics, weedoil and antihistamine but nothing seems to work to calm down a bit.

I searched on the internet but find nothing about the combination MAO inhibitors and tinnitus.

I would like to know this too. Wikipedia lists tinnitus as one side effect of Moclobemide though.

      Hi,

I have put off taking any meds for my depression and generalized anxiety for the past couple of years because I have heard that pretty much all of them are ototoxic and it's just too much of a concern for me.

However, looking into MAOIs, I haven't really found much to indicate that they would be ototoxic. I am now wondering whether they are safe for tinnitus and a good direction to go in?

Has anyone had experiences with MAO inhibitors and does anyone know if they are non-ototoxic?
