Cause of Tinnitus
Mixing music for long and too loud.
Why is this? I am now vacuuming without earplugs, and now I took a amall break and I noticed there was a moment of almost complete silence.

Now as the silence continues, the tinnitus noises are coming gradually back.

Can someone explain this?

If it can restore itself to normal working after noise, then it seems there is a malfunction somewhere in brain that makes us thing the silence is louder than it actually is, Increasing gain even if not needed.

Thats exactly whats happening. The brain is stupid sound mixer in the booth and when he cant hear the music, he keeps cracking up the gain. Thats why hearing aids can silence tinnitus, but I and many others feel hearing aids worsen hearing in the long term so its not a real solution.

Yes. I remember when I was learning to use dynamics compressor in music.

So I feel like my internal dynamics compressor is now broken. There is too much gain and threshold is set wrong...
