My Ears Are Burning from Exposure to Very Loud Evacuation Siren

Today the loudest siren, sounding like an air horn, went on for 10-15 seconds across the street at the childcare centre.

I was inside the house with front door opened, so some 25-30 meters away.

I’ve been in tears all afternoon as I feel my ears are burning which I take is not a good sign.

I emailed them immediately thinking it was somebody doing it for “fun” but the reply came as: mandatory evacuation siren 2 times per term! I gave them my piece of mind!

I found these sounds to be around 130 dB.

How likely is this to cause damage in my case?
