Hi, my name is Samuel, I'm 17, from Slovakia and I've been dealing with tinnitus probably for 5 years, but I started to worry about it like 10 days ago. When I was young, I didn't think that tinnitus was a big deal, I was like "Oh okay, it's just ringing in my ears, nothing to worry about." It wasn't loud, I noticed it only in quiet places (bathroom, in my bed).
After I was dealing with COVID-19 2 weeks ago, my tinnitus got louder. Sometimes I was stressing about it, but right now I'm getting used to it, hoping it will make less noise after the COVID-19 will totally disappear from my body. I'm little bit scared it will be louder and louder and louder. I'm trying to not think about it, because when I think about it, my brain is making the tinnitus more louder and then I'm panicking.
It's like a never ending cycle - TINNITUS —> MORE STRESS —> LOUDER TINNITUS —> EVEN MORE STRESS...
So this is my story, it's really nice that people here are supporting each other and making others happier or more comfortable. I just want to say, tinnitus is not a death sentence, a lot of people are suffering, you are not the only one. Just get used to it, don't think about it too much. I heard that some people don't hear it after all, because they wasn't paying attention to it, so their brain "forgot" about it.
