Why don't you check for hearing loss? Do an audiogram. If it shows there, you can be pretty sure you have hearing loss. The opposite isn't necessarily true.
They should use a warble tone in the test if you have tinnitus. The subtle fluctuation of the tone makes it easier to hear beneath the sound of your T.
