I'm obese and need to immediately lose weight. I'm now pre-diabetic and I need to lose a lot of weight to keep it under control.

My GP recommended Mysimba (also known as Contrave). I googled it and it appears to contain Bupropion and Naltrexone. I also found out Wellbutrin is Bupropion and Wellbutrin has been known to cause or worsen tinnitus.

Mysimba is supposed to reduce food cravings and help with weight loss.

What is the risk profile for Mysimba for someone who has tinnitus? If I get bad side effects from it, will those be temporary or permanent?

Or is there something else I could try for losing weight? Tips? Having tinnitus doesn't make it easier, comfort eating and all that!!!

I can email you a copy of a low carb diet that should get you into ketosis.

You need to find ways to move, build muscle mass.

Lower your cortisol: destress as this will encourage fat storage.

Alpha lipoic acid is used to increase insulin sensitivity; preventing the onset of diabetes.

I'd avoid the med you mentioned.
