Cause of Tinnitus
Mixing music for long and too loud.
After spending the evening at the club (I was wearing earplugs, but still got worsening tinnitus and hyperacusis afterward, along with balance issues and so on), I also noticed that I get nauseous whenever I hear high-pitched sounds.

I have never experienced anything like this before.

Is anyone else out there dealing with this? And what could be the reason?

Oh, you have no replies yet? I went to a noisy club about 30 years ago, and it really did a disaster to my hearing. There was other noise exposure as well, but not much was known about it back then, and there was no internet either.

Nausea and balance issues are related to the eighth nerve, the acoustic nerve, and it sounds like what you experienced is connected to the noise from the club. I didn't even use hearing protection properly. I would overuse it when I shouldn't, and not use it when I should. No one tells you these things.

Earplugs do very little for low frequencies, and low frequencies are also very hazardous. Clubs usually have the bass turned up quite loud, which explains a lot. I would completely avoid places like that based on my bad experience.
