Hi folks... I have signed up for the Audio Notch sound therapy but have a major problem determining frequency...there is no steady tone to go by, it's more like electrical storm thats has multiple components to it.

Does anyone know if there is a correlation between tinnitus and the audiogram?

My audiogram only goes to 8000 Hz but there is about 15 decibel dip at exactly 6000 Hz in both ears.

Could my tinnitus live inside that dip by any chance?

My hearing loss is at 6kHz as well and while I also have several tinnitus tones, my main pitch is a 6kHz pure tone.

You can get an audiogram up to 15,000hz with specialist audiologists. You will have to ring around to find one that does it.

"Normally" your tinnitus frequency corresponds to the dip in your hearing loss. Do you have a white hiss noise or a ringing tinnitus?

I've been pinpointing my T freq and tone, single tone pitch as well. I'm lucky in that I erespond to sound generation which greatly reduces my T, often eliminating it for days. Just 5 or 10 minutes a day. Using AudioNotch

It's a weird combination of hissing, ringing and whistling... but the way it's bouncing around in my head it's hard to pinpoint anything specific... almost like some kind of an electric storm... :(

I also signed up for Audio Notch... this is why I'm trying to pinpoint my frequency.
Let me ask you couple of questions:
When you are listening to the notched sound, can you still hear your tinnitus, or does your tinnitus kind of blend in with the sound? (which to my understanding is the whole idea of "notching" the sound)

Also what volume are you using?
And lastly, is it also effective through your tiny smartphone speakers when going to bed to be used as masking sound?

Thank you in advance for answering any of my questions in this matter.

      Here's what I did:

I used a low frequency, 2000hz, and a high one, 10,000hz. I found which was closer, and narrowed it down. So I picked between 3000hz and 7000hz. I kept doing this process of elimination.

I have a hissing tinnitus, and I was able to narrow it down to 5573hz.
