I popped to see the GP due to fullness, slightly dulled hearing, and increased tinnitus in my right ear. After looking around he said I do have some wax covering half of my ear drum, and the inside of my ear looks a little irritated. I have no pain, swelling, or itchiness of the ear, but he said it's potentially the start of an external infection and prescribed the Neomycin spray to hopefully clear things up.

Worth mentioning I'm also pretty bunged up (sore throat etc) which is most likely the main cause of my issues anyway. Still on daily Beconase nasal spray, seems that if I stop using this my nose and ears are basically blocked all the time.

As far as I know the Neomycin drops / sprays should be avoided if possible? If that's true, are there any safe alternatives I can request?

For the wax, I have been using olive oil drops but if I'm being honest I don't think they're really helping. Would using the Otex Sodium Bicarbonate drops be a reasonable option to also try?
