No idea if this was already posted, but I found it an interesting article and proves we are on our way to find a cure or treatment soon. Oh, and in case people forgot. We already have treatments like retigabine and I believe one other. So once they manage to figure out how to have these kind of medications not have these bad side-effects, we might be on a cure / treatment even sooner.

re Dopamine question posed by deathbymigrain: Try researching Mirapex for restless legs, it is supposed to increase Dopamine. There are anecdotal reports of T relief.

I have all those issues which you mentioned... OCD, Perfectionism and the control issues are hand in hand with those two things, in fact all three are tied together.

Makes you wonder the type of personality that has a predisposition to developing T. As 'Champ' pointed out, this forum seems to have a disproportionate number of science/engineering/medical and just generally analytical people. If you read the responses from people you definitely get the feeling the forum itself has a larger number of educated people than some of the other forums I have visited. I wonder if there is a correlation to depression and the personality types here, especially in relation to the neuro-plasticity and dopamine/serotonin pathways that seem to promote the development of T in many people with CNS issues. I guess for many in these fields perfectionist behavior makes accepting something like Tinnitus even more difficult,

Not if it is the result of NIHL. Regenerating cochlear hair cells very well may reduce or even cure tinnitus in those cases. We don't know if this is the case yet or not, so why make such pessimistic and declarative statements?

Its so interesting. I am an introverted person, just like one of my sisters. She has T too, but in a mild form (audible in silence). My other sister has an outgoing personality. She went to a lot of nighclubs and Luis Miguel concerts and have no idea what T is. She never experienced it in 40 years of life.
