I am new to tinnitus. I haven't been getting much sleep these past days. It's only a little bit of sleep. I have OCD and anxiety and I think I have insomnia. I just got tinnitus. I try to ignore the ringing but it's hard. Is it possible for someone like me to to get used to this. Thank you.

Hello, sorry you are dealing with anxiety and tinnitus.

      https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK507266/
Magnesium may help improve hearing and reduce tinnitus.

However there is no cure at this moment of time.

May I ask if you had a history of loud noise exposure, concerts cars, headsets, Or any known hearing deficit?

I used to wear headphones and have them up pretty loud. I'm having trouble sleeping. I'm taking hydroxyzine and it's helping with my anxiety a little. I just want to get more sleep. I'm trying to stay positive. My tinnitus during the day isn't that bad but at night it gets really loud.

Do not ever use loud headphones again, that may have very likely been a major factor in your tinnitus onset.

Let your ears rest and heal, and it might lower or even go away.

I cannot answer that question. I have problems too and am suffering myself.

Have you always had anxiety/OCD/insomnia? I developed pretty bad anxiety and horrible insomnia a couple of years ago, had a couple of pretty bad panic attacks. Tinnitus came along a few months later. I don't know if it was related at all. I was having issues dealing so I finally went to a psychiatrist for an antidepressant (Lexapro) and trazodone to help with the insomnia. It didn't help the tinnitus but certainly improved my mental outlook on having it. It's a rough stretch in the beginning for sure.
