Exposure to loud Noise
Hello, Sarah here.

I have noticed a new tinnitus sound and pitch. I am not sure if this is normal. I also suffer from hay fever, and I am wondering if the hay fever has made my tinnitus worse due to the seasonal changes.

I think that is possible. It is very normal for tinnitus to increase due to illness, fever, flu, or if you are tired. It makes sense that it could be affected.

How long have you had your high-pitched sound?

I had it before when I had allergies, or something else must have triggered it, causing the whistle noise.

Absolutely! Air pressure and seasonal allergies will probably always cause tinnitus to become somewhat worse, or even change in pitch or tone. I have had tinnitus for so long that I barely remember a time when I did not have it. It has gone through many changes over the years, but three consistent triggers are stress, flying, and seasonal allergies. I dread the allergies more because I seldom ever fly, and every year, allergy season starts up again right on schedule.

A lady once told me that every year she gets sinus infections, even after sinus surgery, but they are just not as bad as before. If I start my day with a few sprays of saline nasal spray, it really helps. You would not think so, but it does, and it works for the entire day.
