Since you all were so supportive yesterday, when I was so down, I have to post this quickly:

I had gone through three rough days of very high T, due to noise exposure at my own birthday party, and was feeling pretty depressed. The loudness, and worrying about it, had started up my anxiety again. I wasn't sleeping.

So last night, I went out after a long day of work and bought some NAC (N-acetylcysteine), a supplement recommended by my doc acupuncturist and others on this board. You take it immediately prior, then after, loud noise exposure. I took 1200 mg right before bed. I also popped in a small sample of a new sleep med that my psych wanted me to try, as we start working on stopping the benzos.

Well, this morning I am a new girl. The ringing definitely is down, although it's still there. I slept much better, even if I did wake up a few times. And I actually had a brief moment, after stepping out of the shower... when I heard no T at all. Yeah, it came back. But I now I feel like I can take it on.

So thanks to everyone here for giving me, and the rest of us, a place to come when we are tired and despairing. And remember (as I hope I will): Our bad days? They're only for now.
