      Hi all,

Just joined after scouring the internet for places of information and support from folks experiencing symptoms. I've had tinnitus for over 15+ years and never quite (still don't) know the cause.

About 5 weeks ago I had an acute bout of vertigo while sleeping that was pretty bad. Settled down but then was replaced by near constant dizziness/lightheadedness/disequilibrium whenever I'm standing, onset usually about 30 min after waking.

GP and Urgent Care haven't given any diagnosis, I'm otherwise healthy. A PT friend suggested I get checked out for BPPV, went to a specialist about 4 weeks ago who diagnosed me with BPPV and have been doing weekly sessions with her, along with daily PT at home. Not making much of dent, she says it takes time although some of my symptoms don't align with BPPV.

I've seen a very helpful Perilymph Fistula thread here, not sure yet how to post directly there, but am curious because that diagnosis could make more sense. (Airplane trip, followed by several days of ear pain with a big increase in daily running (exertion), and upon return the onset of these symptoms. My GP has finally made an ENT referral, but says that because I'm not "that bad" it could get denied. Fingers crossed it gets approved and that it's an ENT good with inner ear stuff.

Anyone here have good bed rest success stories? Blood patch success? Any home treatments that helped?

      Thanks all!

Same with me, been in bed since May.
I can't believe your Doctor said all that wasn't that bad.

I think mine is from nerve damage.
