Cause of Tinnitus
Noise exposure at a concert
A month ago, I got tinnitus from a loud concert. It is manageable now, but my biggest problem is my blocked ears. I developed mild ETD after a cold and was prescribed prednisone over the phone. Now that I saw an ENT, he recommends that I don't take it as the pressure/blocked ears should go away over time and medication is unnecessary.

Although, I have a 24 hour flight to South Africa in few weeks and don't want problems equalizing pressure on the plane.

Any advice on whether to take the small 7 day dose of prednisone? My ENT said it is my choice but I am scared

If the ETD affects your tinnitus and you still have blocked ears the week before your flight you probably should give it a shot.
