Hi all,

I have had pulsatile tinnitus for eight months now. It comes and goes, but it is really unpleasant. This time, it has returned along with pain when swallowing. I have had this for over a week. It is not like a typical sore throat—it feels more like a sharp pain, and it is only on one side, the same side as the pulsatile tinnitus. I only feel it when I swallow.

Has anyone else experienced this? I am hoping it is just a coincidence and not something to worry about.

Big thanks.

Do you have acid reflux? I know acid reflux gives me pulsatile tinnitus, and it used to give me a sore throat.

I have exactly the same symptoms, and I've had them for a couple of years. I believe I am close to identifying the cause, and I'm pretty sure it's TMJ-related.

Recently the pain improved significantly, and the pulsatile tinnitus improved slightly, after I started taking Magnesium supplements and stopped wearing my retainer. Did you also have braces, Invisalign, or TMJ pain?
