      Dr Nagler:

I have tinnitus (mild/moderate) and a slight form of hyperacusis ( sounds are louder). But I also have this annoying ear pain. It is pretty random, somtimes I already have it when I wake up. But the weird thing is that it reduces for a couple of minutes when I drink something hot or very cold. Do you have any idea of what this could be?

Nina, it is difficult to determine the exact cause of ear pain without a thorough ENT examination - and sometimes even with a thorough ENT examination! I am very sorry, but I cannot responsibly shed any light purely by virtue of the description of your symptoms.
