      Sorry for the late reply.

It’s hard to say. The spike definitely improved a bit, but not completely. I did however get more used to it and life improved.

@Rust glad to read you are doing okay.

I remember reading @Ed209 experience with a very loud MRI. He can explain it better. He had the same reaction as you if I remember correctly. But dealt with a lot of guilt for not stopping the procedure when it became intolerable.

Like you he is now doing okay.

But having knowledge about this is so important.

How is everyone doing now? I have previously very bad hyperacusis that had finally improved but I seem to have torn or damaged a muscle in my foot and doctors want an MRI.

Hard to fully say if it got worse, but it did subside a bit and I feel okay and like I recovered well in the end. So, even if it is a little worse, I think things returned to something close to normal. Many other spikes have got in the way since then!
Please bear in mind my MRI was a supposed ‘quiet’ one, and I don’t think I would of gone near a regular one. So it may be worth you looking around for one which has newer quiet sequences.

      All the best,
      R
