Hi folks,

I would like to post some psychological effects of tinnitus that I have/still have experienced.

I'm not posting these to be negative, rather just to share with others on this strange journey we are on.

I have to say I am 2 months into this Tinnitus and I also have a bad Sinus infection. So I am dealing with two things rather than one.

1) Afraid to move to a different room/environment
2) Thinking about the past and better times
3) Seeing no better times in the future
4) Getting angry very quickly
5) Lack of motivation to do anything/tiredness
6) Finding music highly emotional (especially in stores/shops)
7) Afraid to go into the bathroom (this is my worst one - I'm not sure why, perhaps a feeling of no control?)
8) Feeling other people are stupid
9) Finding other peoples laughter extremely annoying because you don't feel happy at all
10) Getting scared about the days passing

Well that's just some, hope it makes sense.

Cheers.

@monkey legs ,
I understand how you feel as also suffering with sinus issues as well as my ears and asthma.
Your just having a emotional wobble and anxiety can soon have us thinking weard things .
The bathroom one is easy just do some deep breathing and remember we all need to use it but I remember my dark days looking at a withdrawn reflection of myself in the mirror...
Dont be scared of the day and time alone on your own just write down the good things in each day even the small things like a nice warm drink or song on the radio and do it everyday to build up the nice things.
If you hear people laughing you can do that also by trying to not to take life seriously meaning in this rat race of a life people forget to have fun and easy to blame our health issues.
Tinnitus is mental torture and know it makes us down hearted but push with all your strength to get through tough times and try make fun times too...
Love glynis x

Thank you Glynis you are a wonderful person. Im finding it hard to deep breathe because of this Sinus thing lol. I am seeing a new ENT and waiting for the appointment to come through. I think I will have to pin him down and get him to listen.

Cheers.

Ditto to what Glynis said....

I'm just over 2 months with this lovely "gift" the same as you and have up and down days.
I know your not feeling very energetic mentally or physically at the moment but try and go for a nice walk I know this helps clear some of the fogginess and anger in my little brain.
I force myself to smile in hopes of tricking my brain into releasing some nice endorphins haha and think of small things that make me happy.
This can be such a debilitating thing and takes a toll on you mentally and physically but all I can say is try and be postive that this won't break you nor will it beat you.

Take it easy mate

Cheers my friend! I also have Bad Sinusitis which I am dealing with, which makes things worse. I do like to walk, and the smiling trick is a good one!

We will get there in the end (where ever that is! lol)

All the best to you!
