Acoustic Trauma
Dear all, a few days ago I was "attacked" by a slamming door. It was extremely loud and caused a spike. Of course, I panicked and started searching online to find out how loud a slamming door can be. I came across the article below about the acoustic reflex, which I thought would be worth sharing.

In this particular case, the acoustic reflex did not prevent the spike, but I will try to stay calmer in the future when unexpected short loud noises occur and I do not have time to put on hearing protection, including using my fingers, which is often the case with sudden sounds.
