Supplements to combat ototoxic drugs?

Whats everyones opinion on taking vitamins such as magnesium and other suggested supplements a week or two prior to needing to take something that is considered low to moderately ototoxic to minimize or neutralize the negative effects?

I would try NAC, 600 mg dose. You might also try melatonin.

NAC is currently being tested to mitigate noise damage; but it's also been used to help reduce damage from ototoxic drugs.

To my knowledge, magnesium does not prevent otoxoic damage--but it is useful for tinnitus so you might include it.
