Hi Started in 30 November 2013. My head was ringing like 10000 hz when it started. After 3 months and now my head ringing like 17850 hz I am 21 years old I'm only able to hear them when its quiet. I don't know what is the cause of my tinnitus. It never bothered me. Never. And now ı habituated %100. In fact, most of the time, I am not even aware of it. I can only really hear it when I am in bed. It was just sounds in the background, nothing more.
So I am lucky ha My mum and dad can't hear anything over 14000 Hz My big sister can't hear anything over 16000 Hz. They have no T. But I can hear over 17000 Hz with T ? I think this is misfortune and very interesting...
Yes. It is all about volume. I can remember days where I had only very low hissing which was covered by nearly every environmental sound. Nothing compared to my high pitched whistle I normally hear. So yes, you are lucky. Hearing loss does not necessarily mean you get T and vice versa. I have met people with perfect hearing, but they have T. Big thanks for sharing your story.
