Technological Solution Over a Drug Based One for Hyperacusis

Hey people,

I feel the best instrument we have for hyperacusis right now are plain old foam earplugs. They block out all frequencies well compared to other solutions such as filtered earplugs or noise cancelling headphones.

I know a drug based solution may be far away as the ear structure is complex but surely a discreet technology to dampen certain frequencies including your own voice can be created very soon to improve our quality of daily life?

I think you are right. That's what I have been using for years: foam earplugs and also earmuffs, depending on the situation.
