The Hell We All Experience

Hi i am Peter 59 years old and suffering from tinnitus since september 2012. Tried every cure there is but as we all know nothing really helps. I really get mad about all the scams, ebooks promising a 7 or 14 day cure. We all know this to be nonsense. I have be tested in Antwerp by Brain and they are really helpfull, but also dont have the cure. Also tried chiropractor, acupuncture, hypnoses, ostheopaty, result: NOTHING.
I really support all you people out there. Lets hope for a cure soon.

 

May I ask what the cause of your Tinnitus is?

 

i have a few possibilities: extreme stress because of a argument with my wife or bad beds and rocky beaches in Croatia causing my neck to twist. Tis are the most realistic causes

Did you find a way to live with it? I guess Italy is a better place to have it then Holland. Weather at least is more optimistic

 

I'm not sure if the weather may help but yes I did. We all, sooner or later, find a way to live with it. Did you find it already?

 

it took me about a year to accept it, and now i can live with it. Its a nightmare and knowing there is no cure makes that worse. But in general i cope with the situation. You seem so young yet, so i really do hope they will find a cure soon. Have e great day

 

Hi, Peter I am Dutch to, would love some more sun (Vitamine D) aswell! Did you already tried to go to a chiropracter?

 

Yes i went to a chiropractor. But i fell down a building from third floor, so my whole back was a mess, with broken ribs and vertebrates. It took him five years to straighten me out. So after getting tinnitus i went back, but no result. Long live Vitamin B

Hmm that much have been awfull! Well hopefully we will find a cure someday, In Heerenveen they are doing Acoustic Neuromodulation recently you might want to check that out! Unfortunately not covered by insurance

 

is that tdcs? I had that in Antwerp with Brain.

Just be glad you never got it at my age 23...I'd rather have it at 57 than at my age, as I would've lived most of my life, sorry you've got it though as it's bad at any age.

 

He Danny and Eric, its bad at any age, but i can imagine 23 is much too young.. And its frustrating that people offer non existing cures. What Beessie wrote seems interesting. Pity its so far away. I am an entrepreneur with little time. I do hope it will become available near my hometown of Heemstede, Netherlands. But its something that looks promising. Check it out guys. Beessie did you already try this or are you planning to do so?

thanx Rico. I am afraid so yes. I contacted Brain in Antwerp about this therapy Beessie suggested. They checked this therapy themselves and had 0% result. Another scam i am afraid. He says (guy from Brain) that the device is a mp3 player of about 50 euro, and they charge you 2720 euro..... Thanx for another try to give us hope and make us pay...:-(

 

Hee Designer, Nope didn't tried it yet one of the requirements is that you need to have Chronic Tinnitus (more than 6 months), mine is "only" 3. Well I might try it out in the future. First I will do extensive research, don't know if it is a scam according to the numbers giving by them it helps at least a little bit if you do have one constant tone of Tinnitus (like I do).

This therapy is done in Germany and the UK for longer times, I am sure some information can be found on the forum. Maybe even official reports with results from well-known doctors.I don't know ATM but I can look for you, I was planning to look to it after a few months if my Tinnitus is still here.

In two weeks I am done with my thesis so my stress level will be reduced a lot. Plus starting with a course of Mindfulness on the 21th of April and I have my second appointment with a Chiropractor (specialised in Tinnitus) on Thursday. She said my TMJ muscles are under extreme tension (100%) so this might be the solution for me, to at least reduce the volume. I know more next Friday when I visit my Dentist to see if I need a bite-plate.

I will post my updates at my own post at the introduction threat, to eventually (I hope) help people who read it.

Thanx Bas. By the way i am Peter. I also have constant high pitch whistling in my ears (20 db at 8000herz), don’t know if its really the kind of tinnitus they claim to be able to fix. But Brain in Antwerp said it was good theory but bad results. If it was that successful don’t you think this cure would not have been promoted world wide? There is a fortune to be made with a cure. And almost 3000 euro for a treatment is expensive, with no guarantee. I really do hope yours disappears after thesis. I don’t know where you live but would appreciate address of your chiropractor. Seems like we have the same kind of Tinnitus although mine is high pitch TV sound, I know more about the db/frequency next week. I will visit a specialised hospital for Tinnitus in Hoensbroek, Limburg.

Just search for some official reports about neuromodulation and you seems te be right. Only small pilots were available with the sentence to be aware of the results. On the other hand why should a hospital in The Netherlands doing such thing, I know they are commercial but they wont even give new sufferers Prednisole (because it is not proven to be efficient) and this is quiet normal in other countries.

Pretty interesting to read as well. The guy who does this normally is currently recovering from a hip fracture but his re-placer is also well-known about Tinnitus and related muscle tension, although that was my experience. As I said I will see her tomorrow so let me know if I can do anything for you. It is about 50 Euro per hour so not even that expensive.

Lijkt inderdaad een goede specialist. Mazzelaar dat je bent dat het vlakbij jou is. Voor mij zou het een paar uur reizen kosten en als kleine ondernemer heb ik die tijd helaas niet. Ben benieuwd wat ze ervan vonden.

Al bekend met de naam Olav Wagenaar? Dit lijkt me ook een hele goede specialist, zit in Den Haag. Een stukje dichterbij voor jou!

De sessie van gister lijkt geholpen te hebben.. Rechts heeft ze mijn hoofd gemasseerd op bepaalde trigger points (au). Direct na de sessie leek de pieptoon minder en anders van geluid, als een oude gasketel die na flink stoken wordt uitgezet. na 6 uur nog steeds hetzelfde effect.

Nu 1 dag later is het geluid stukken minder, en links niets veranderd. De linkerkant laat ik over twee weken masseren, al deed deze minder pijn (de toon was ook lager). Nu lijkt de pieptoon in mijn linker oor harder.

Of het placebo is ofniet, het lijkt te werken.

How about age related hearing loss? That can cause tinnitus too, which is really unfair.

 

Yeah thats possible too. But my hearing was 100% untill september 2012. And next day 100% tinnitus. So i doubt it. Must have been something in my neck, brain or .....

My hearing is really great can hear over 17,000 hz...Yet I still have tinnitus, so unfair...But what can we do, we all get ear infections...I had a lot has a child and when I was an adult so that explains that.

 

Yeah that is very unfair. But tinnitus has many possible causes. Even cleaning your ear can cause it. Its not always connected to hearing loss. Wish you all the best and all of my fellow sufferers:-(
