Hi there, I am new to this forum, and to tinnitus.

I have had a rough time lately, some major life hurdles to overcome which has left me depressed in a major way. Rather than doing what I should have done, which was to get out and about etc....

I stayed in bed for days and days, masturbating. This is so embarrassing, but I would do it 60 plus times in a row some days. Mostly in a face down position.

Shortly after I began hearing morse code in my ear. I didn't correlate the two together, then in the same ear I began a constant eeeeeeeee noise. The more i masturbated the other ear soon followed, morse code and a white noise. Both time my hearing and ear went numb a for a while.

Then the tinnitus began.

It wasn't so bad in my ears until I did it again a month ago, this time only a few times, but it resulted in a major tinnitus spike of both ears and now it's so loud and crazy in my ears.

Does anyone have any info on orgasm causing tinnitus? It's terrible that something pleasurable could bring this on!!

I am devastated.

I don't know if you are serious or not. If you are, I don't think there is any link between masturbation and tinnitus. :D Maybe you should find a girl? It's more fun. :LOL:

Many neurons fire in the brain during an orgasm, as they do when there is a spike in tinnitus.

No I'm a female, in my 30's, not a guy, I dint think men are capable if 6o or so at a time. I am serious though unfortunately. I have no other cause fir the tinnitus appart from that, and as I experienced numb ears after then the t, it's got to have been the trigger. I am just annoyed that doing this, to give pleasure could do such damage. V upset. Could it be that too many o's caused major high blood pressure? I'd any one knows....
I wondered if anyone had suffered the same, I've looked in line and not much comes up so seems I've brought it in by this rare act of over self indulgence .

No, it is probably not linked. When doing survey about the causes of tinnituses, the most common answer was "unknown". It often happens out of the blue. Some people blame something that was happening before the t but it is always happens something before the t. Doesn't mean it is the cause.

Heard about women getting massive migraines both before And after sex, the latter goes for males too :). Tinnitus, why not. It doesnt necessarily have to be the cause, but 60 is pretty impressive and extreme, everything is connected and what we know is that we dont know much, the cocktail; major hurdles, depression and 60 of those is not to be an undermined combo. Welcome! And go pay your gp/ent a visit :)
besides tinnitus has shown somtimes to be blood pressure related, combined with all the drugs unleashed by your brain Id be surprised if your body wouldnt react in some extreme way to the extreme events

I had wondered if it excessive mastubation was similar to having v high blood pressure that causes t. Esp as after my face is always hot, flushed, ears feel hot etc... Heart rate high...
I don't even want to ask my ENT in case he thinks I'm crazy, but I totally believe it's the cause. I remember how my ears felt after every time doing it....
I mean it's not common to orgasm 60 times in a row anyway is it. I guess anything in excess is bad for us.

Tenna, yes I think you're right.....
If the cocktail is right for it. And yes, if people can get migraine then why not t esp after so many.

Feel so foolish now for giving it to myself . A few moments of pleasure for a lifetime of pain . Not worth it. :-(

My tinnitus started 6 days after a clubnight. First tinnitus as a little morse code sound on left, then white noise/crickets evolved on both ears. So sound wise I Almost hear you :)
Anyway, don't feel embarrassed, they're there to help you and if they don't, they're the ones who should feel that. The first month/s is the month of miracle-searching, and if I were you I'd probably do some searching relating to orgasm induced migraines. And do write down every question and symptoms, potential research explanations, cause you will forget it when visiting gp/ent.
Haha yes.. a few lol :) Meanwhile waiting and researching on the above mentioned, you gotta prepare yourself if you havent already, for it to not disappear, good news is nobody can tell you its for a lifetime. My point is that nomatter how this turns out, tinnitusfilled or tinnitusfree, the road to recovery is to not stress and be anxious about it. Focusing your energy on good things is hard when depressed I know - But key :)

I must say @Penelope33 I don't think I would ever have had the courage to put up such an honest post. I suppose it could be related although you say that you were depressed and that's what my GP and ENT specialist think has caused my T. I have been put on Prozac and am nearly two weeks in.

Well I have to be honest, it's defo caused it, just a shame that something that feels good can have such a terrible outcome. How is the prozac working? I was prescribed too but too scared to take in case makes t worse

I think there must be a different reason - or possibly blood pressure going up from the activity ??? - it sounds like it should get better on its own - no need to look for support - it will just subside with no ill effect.

Hi there. I was getting no sleep due to my T, which made me feel worse obviously, but then even when my T was hardly noticeable I still could not sleep, so think the real cause of insomnia was worry and depression. I literally went 5 nights at a time with no sleep at all which made me feel like a zombie and I was worried I would lose my job which of course only excacerbated my stress levels so it was a vicious cycle. I was wary of taking the Prozac as one of the side effects is insomnia and I obviously did not want to make it worse. I went back the to the GP and she told me that I should take it as my sleep would return as soon as my mood was lifted. The side effects are meant to last between 1-2 weeks. I have now taken 15 days of pills and I have to say that I am gradually sleeping more and more each night. I have now probably got up to about 4 hours at a stretch which is a vast improvement and I would say that I am starting to feel a bit brighter already even though the full benefits of Prozac are not supposed to be felt till about 4-6 weeks. Although the T is annoying I do believe that my already low state of mind did not help me cope with it at all, and this coupled with sleep deprivation just continued to fuel it. I recently discovered that a good friend of mine has had T for years but it does not bother him in the least even though he says some days he can hardly hear the telly over it. It is definitely all about our attitude to it.

Yes I know I done it in excess. That's when the t began. One ear mainly and only 2 tones with only 1 audible in quiet.

I got complacent. I orgasamed again in several occasions like many do , and some multiple times . Then bang, one night it came to both ears, many different tones in each and crazy loud. Orgasm should be a normal function no?!
Does anyone here have t spikes from orgasm ?

Penelope33, I usually have about 7 orgasms at a time but have never had a spike in tinnitus. Could it be due to high blood pressure? Your heart rate speeds up enormously during orgasm and BP goes very high so it could be that. Anonymous!

Don't know if this is gender specific but I've never heard or read anything about orgasms being T instigators - but it may perhaps create spikes for some. Just like right after a work out, but then it always calms down again. I remember a spokesman from a T association advising people with T to have sex and enjoy life. Please share if you retrieve any new info. on this. Could perhaps be a blood pressure issue as already mentioned.

That's what I was told by my t consultant , do things that make you feel good! If id known It would spike and cause t I would have acted like nun. Must be bp related then but so many do it and it's supposed to be a stress reliever. I don't understand. As embarrassing as it is I will inform my t consultant. I did have a spinal leak repaired with a blood patch 4 months ago so wonder if I have high or low intercrainial pressure causing this, and my head can't take the pressure from orgasm. One if my ears did go numb after the last major orgasm induced spike too... So upset !

According to Chinese medication theory, one major cause of tinnitus is weak kidney and excessive sex or masturbating can actually induced tinnitus...

Hello Penelope!Since the direct cause of Tinnitus is not known and it is probably caused by excessive neurological activity in certain parts of the brain it could be that combined with depression it might have triggered it. Probably prozac or sedatives could help? Also stress reduction. You probably masturbated in order to get pleasure in a tough time - try to fid a replacement.

Thanks, that's exactly what I did, was depressed so used that to stress relieve only to cause t! :-( I have a scrip for prozac but scared to take it.

do you still have the Ringing till this very Moment? I think it is probably Blood Pressure related, somehow it seems like it. I never tried masterbating before and i am serious. Have you still not solve your problem?

I can give you some links but there are all in Chinese language...
The theory is from ancient Chinese medicine literature. I'm not sure how true it is but i believe it is possible. Maybe you should go for a full blood check to rule out any problems with your general health include kidney, thyroid and etc.

Also i would suggest that you completely stop masterbates for a long while and try other relaxing method like exercise, brisk walking. You don't want to make your T worse permanently!

No it's spiked too due to further sexual activity. I was always under the impression that mastubation is good for you and lowers blood pressure . Seems I'm wrong
