Tinnitus and Valtrex?

I'm on Valtrex for more than 10 years now. I did try to stop a few times but my problem always reapears after a few week so most of those years, I took (and still take) 1000mg every 2 days. It works better than 500mg each day in my case (doctors don't know why, but some agree that it's possible).

Could the Valtrex be the cause of the Ts that I have for almost 4 years now?

Unlikely, I've read the Valtrex leaflet and there is no mention of tinnitus as a side effect.
Furthermore Valtrex may be beneficial for a few tinnitus cases that are caused by viral labyrinthitis and are treated early on along with corticosteroids.

However, everyone responds differently to medications and there is always a very slight possibility that Valtrex may have something to do with your T.

 

My cochelea outter cells tests are not very good... I'm still wondering if a long term usage of Valtrex could have have damaged them...

Its very weird
because its been stated that valtrex could possible help to even recover hearing in some cases of menieres.
