I know my case is unusual and probably caused by at least mostly an external force. When I'm in a quiet room though my tinnitus fluctuates wildly in matters of minutes. Yesterday during a midterm I noticed I couldn't hear it whatsoever (convenient timing, I know). I put in some 32 dB earplugs and even then I could barely hear it. When I was home that same day though it was loud in a louder room.

When I'm in a silent room, it fluctuates between almost inaudible to very loud in a matter of 10 minutes. And I'm paying attention so I know it's a matter of volume. Is this normal?

My T also fluctuates. Some days it is good and some days it is bad, but most of the time it is low in the morning and night, then it gets loud as the day progresses.

Yesterday morning it was low and then it increased and then it lowered again.

I have very extreme good/bad days too. Some days I can hear it easily in a 60dB room, and some days I can barely hear it in a 35 dB room (These days are rare and I can ruin them by doing the valsalva maneuver).

For me though it can wildly fluctuate in a matter of minutes, not days.

It can also be due to diet. Sodium causes my T to spike!

For me sodium and caffine make it quieter for some reason. Maybe placebo.

Actually I think sodium might make it worse, but spicy food makes it a lot better for a bit for me.
