Hello Dr.Ancil, is severe tinnitus considered a disability where you practice medicine?
Here in the USA, it varies greatly from state to state. For example in some states you can see a doctor, fill out a questionnaire and be approved....in other states it is almost impossible and people go through arduous appeals process and never approved.

So I was just wondering if severe tinnitus would qualify for disability in British Columbia?
 
I think it would. Disability is based on functional consequences and not merely the diagnosis. You would have to demonstrate in what ways you were disabled but disability is not diagnosis-based, at least in principle.
