- Cause of Tinnitus
- Water Impact / Ear Infection / Ear Irrigation
Evening,
Thanks all senior and new members for reading in advance, it's taken me almost a full year to gain the courage to come in here thinking it will go away anyday now. ENTs are currently a 2 year wait in Victoria B.C (Canada). I saw one, he said my ears were perfect. I now just go back and forth with a drop-in clinic when possible. Thinking about going to ER as the pressure intensifying, feeling dizzy and fatigue randomly.
October 2019 - February 2020:
A series of events in 2019 involving high impact water into nose (8 meters and didn't plug my nose), using the 'mold to ear' earplugs to sleep (warm water to shape them), upper respiratory infection while flying as well as possible ear infection, having a doctor "irrigate my ear" which didn't work was too clogged still = massive impact & a side thing; using THC vape pens - I got tinnitus.
February 2020 (hours before tinnitus entered life):
I possibly made the mistake of doing an hour long hot tub outside on a windy cold evening on the ocean while having an ear infection (didn't know at the time) and possibly a respiratory track infection. After a shower, I came out and sat down to watch a movie and there was buzzing in my right ear (this was the day after my ear was irrigated). I believe water is trapped behind the ear.
Ever since this day I've felt with fullness in my ear, more in the right but both sometimes and a buzzing/hissing sound. It has never left me. I don't think my ears have healed, lots of stuff happening in terms of inner popping, clogged/fullness and squishy sounds.
I've had an MRI that came back clear except slight arthritis in neck, I think they saw my ear too but looking into that now to reconfirm - it may not have been a clear image from the side. Should I do a CT of my right side?
TREATMENT:
In the last 2-3 months I've heard more obvious crackling and popping in my deep sinus and the pressure on my ears and the sound is getting more intense. The acupuncturist noticed the sounds too, he believes after fire cupping and needles I have 'wetness/dampness in my body mixed with heat" that needs to be relieved".
Every doctor/ENT says they see my ears and they're ok, but my throat looks irritated. The tinnitus word gets them overwhelmed as it's work to find out answers, more often can't.
LUMPS:
I have two small gelatin lumps on the my right neck under my jaw, have had them for years now (not sure if related). Doctors say it's 'nothing'. Not sure if they are lymph nodes or something else.
EUSTACHIAN TUBES:
My Eustachian Tubes are definitely out of whack somehow, the sound feels as if it's coming from that area on my right side of the neck, like a buzz, there's almost a vibration/inflammation in the back of my throat cashing the pressure - it a few different things at once.
NEXT STEPS
I'm finally coming to terms with this now and not denying it anymore.
I'm scared of Big Pharma (I lost my brother to cancer years ago and saw the drugs do worse than his disease) but I finally decided to buy Sudafed, as my head is ballooning. I can feel pressure on ears, nose and throat. I also have a prescription for an antihistamine.
I'm going to take both and hope they do something.
I also bought the Navage machine. I have to bend my nose up and to the right - I may have a deviated septum. So many things coming to light.
I respect everyone here and anyone's opinion or help is welcome, I've been alone with this for a while now and am just glad Tinnitus Talk exists. The mental impact may be worse than the sound or pressure in ear.
