Tinnitus International Database of Patient Data?

This idea just kind of came to me... What if every new tinnitus sufferer was automatically entered into some kind of unified North American, European (or even world) database with information such as suspected cause, description of sound(s), severity, sex, age, location... etc.

All the existing sufferers could also enter themselves into this database and post updates on the improvements or setbacks... Basically the more people join in, the better.

I bet that with couple of millions cases, suddenly all kinds of patterns would start to form for anyone who is genuinely interested into solving the puzzle.

I know something like this is easier said than done and developing the software that would ask all the right questions would be a nightmare, but maybe some bright minds out there can take this on?
